AI Reshaping Graphic Design

AI is reshaping design (and many other areas); granting speed, amplifying strengths, and erasing limits once defined by time or skill. It turns ideas into visuals in seconds—but at what cost? The same force that empowers also risks stripping away craft, individuality, and the freedom to make a living if left unchecked.

As I watch friends and colleagues replaced by AI, losing their homes and livelihoods, I can’t help but wonder—what’s progress worth if it destroys the people it’s meant to serve? AI isn’t replacing humans; humans are choosing to replace humans with AI. A stalemate dressed up as progress.

AI should be a tool that:
• Cuts human suffering instead of human paychecks.
• Expands access to health, learning, and opportunity
instead of consolidating power.
• Frees creativity and relationships, not just corporate efficiency.

I believe the path forward is governance, by regulation and by self—use AI to amplify human capability, not erase it. Governments must set limits, tax automation and AI gains. Businesses focus on human enhancement, not replacement—the things machines can’t fake.

AI isn’t the enemy or a savior; it’s a mirror, a tool. If we build it selfishly, it’ll destroy families, companies and individuals. If we build it wisely, it will allow us to create new job opportunities, business and personal growth.
